Who Am I?

Hi, my name is Lina, and I am your friendly neighborhood faerie. I am a designer, a writer, a dancer, an avid music fanatic, a whole world lover, and a wing maker with a CAD degree. Oh, and I am so very blessed and loved.

Where Am I?

I travel a lot, like the wind, but currently I am in northern Ohio. I work wherever I am, traveling does not mean vacationing. Subscribe to my newsletter and I will keep you updated of my location changes, I might just end up in your city! Follow me on Instagram @lina_the_faerie for more regular updates. P.S.-I LOVE small towns!

What’s the deal, anyway?

To hire a professional character can cost you a month's worth of a car payment for an hour of entertainment. Some will charge you hourly, some flat rate, but it usually equals out to anywhere between $150-$300. More if you are requiring certain services. Where do I stand? It depends on you and I, really.

Sure, this is a business, but faeries value…well… value. Sometimes a shiny rock can do wonders. But other times, home grown food is just as valid as money. In other words, I respect barter because if I have to spend money for fruits and veggies grown in a laboratory and ripened in a warehouse, I think it’s a safe bet that I’d choose the other option. My point is, If your child desperately needs to meet a faerie, I will not discriminate based on income. It isn’t fair to the child. But please be honest, I’m not here to do this for free. I have monetary standards and we can discuss them over the phone. For safety reasons I do not want to put my phone number online, please e-mail me @ VeryFaerieWeird@gmail.com or use the chat box with information to how I can contact you.

With that aside, let’s talk green.

For one, currently I am not accepting credit cards, only paper.

Also currently, I am not going to be doing big events for the next few months. Just like everything in winter hibernates, I respect that. This is the time for nurture, imagination, and slower paced fun. Which means I will not be doing sing-a-longs, balloon animals, or magic shows. Not until spring time.

With that in mind, for the next few months, I do not want to go over a “party of 5”. Again, it isn’t fair to the children. At this time they need attention, not to give attention to what is presented. They will do that anyway because everything else seems to be standing still for them. I strive to make each child feel equal, they deserve so much more than mere entertainment. I am here to participate.

This is not a show but an event. I’ve been in show business so, no, but thank you, I like being present more. I want to make a difference, I am not just another costumed character who wants to make your child laugh. I want to leave something with them, whether it be hope, a more ignited imagination or confidence, or even just a little more compassion for other things on this planet. And for themselves.

Etiquette

I ask that the adults keep their distance. Not for me but for the kiddos. The child will try to impress you, their attention will be divided, and that isn’t a great circumstance for learning. You will receive a written and detailed ‘faerie report’ certificate to show how the child is doing.

To all of my events, children are encouraged to dress up. But I do a “faerie crowning ceremony” and the child will most likely come back with some form of shiny things on them anyway. Maybe a little bit of face paint, maybe temporary tattoos, or maybe some glitter or shiny things in the hair. That just comes with the faerie territory. No child is ever required to do anything. Except to bring themselves just how they wish to be.

Offers

I always supply my own crafting materials. I also always leave a child with a gift. Each gift is unique. Of course the kiddos always get their “Fairy dust” for later. For the fairy dust I use cellophane which I cut up myself, it’s more magical than glitter, plus it’s better for the environment for it is fully biodegradable and non-toxic. All of my supplies are as natural as I can find them. There are many reasons for this.

Oh, and I also offer a lot of fun.
